Why we are building Sumeru Living
Dear future resident and family,
Imagine waking up to the smell of fresh coffee and the sound of gentle laughter nearby, not strangers, but familiar faces. No more wondering if the gate was locked, the gas switched off, or a pill forgotten. Just a calm, reassuring start to the day.
That’s the feeling we wanted to create at Sumeru Living.
The independence you value should always remain yours. What shouldn’t stay is the weight of everyday worries- the chores, the uncertainty, the quiet anxiety of managing everything alone. At Sumeru, we take care of those things softly in the background, so you can focus on living.
I’ve been around seniors all my life. I grew up with my grandparents, and many of the people closest to me have always been older. I’ve seen how people thrive when they are engaged, connected, and purposeful, and how quickly father time takes its toll when they are not.
India is changing. Families are more global and more nuclear. The social fabric that once ensured seniors were naturally cared for is slowly thinning. Most seniors want to stay where they always have; close to their friends, routines, and culture. However, without a reliable support system, life can become uncertain and tough.
Yet most senior living options today feel clinical, restrictive, and uninspiring. These are places people move into because they have to, not because they want to.
Sumeru Living is our answer to that.
It’s a warm, hospitality-led club style community where life feels easier, days feel fuller, and support is always there- without ever getting in the way. It’s the kind of place I would want my own parents, and grandparents, to call home.
The door is always open. Come visit us, have a cup of coffee, and spend some time here. I think you’ll feel the difference.
I can’t wait for you to experience it!
Yours Warmly,
Ishan Subramanyan
